Just north of San Diego, in the laid-back surf town of Encinitas, there’s a stretch of coast where tall palms frame the setting sun like something out of a dream.

I often find myself here after a surf or for an evening walk, drawn to the stillness that settles in as the day fades. On this particular evening, the sky turned pastel pink and gold — that magical California light that seems to glow from within. Through the silhouettes of the palms, the ocean shimmered with the last light of the day.

This moment reminded me of everything I love about this coast — warmth, rhythm, quiet beauty — and I knew I had to capture it on film.
