On quiet winter evenings, my wife and I often head to this beach in Carlsbad to watch the sun dip into the ocean and decompress from the day. It’s a simple ritual — one filled with stillness, light, and gratitude.
This photograph was taken on one of those evenings, just as the sun reached the horizon and the light turned soft and golden. The shoreline reflected it all: the glow in the water, the texture of the sand, and the peaceful rhythm of the waves.
I shot this moment on film and printed it by hand in my home studio. It’s a small reminder of the beauty that can come from slowing down and just watching the day end.
This photograph was shot on film and is giclée printed in my home studio on Hahnemühle Baryta Fine Art paper. It is available as an 8x10 signed and numbered limited edition print, part of a run of 150 copies.
